Jean-Roule: Hi Camilo! So I know you’re from Colombia right? How did you end up in Brussels?
Camilo: An arranged marriage, I was exchanged with twenty llamas.
Jean-Roule: In the light of your awesomeness, I would say 20 is the bare minimum. How would you define your work? What’s your favorite theme?
Camilo: Late Neotropical Post Romanticism. And I would put on « La parca » by La Sonora Mazuren.
Jean-Roule: I see you sketch daily-life and people. What is the most interesting human characteristic to draw?
Camilo: I like drawing wrinkles and “love handles”.
Jean-Roule: What are you working on right now? Do you have something exciting coming up?
Camilo: There’s a project about southamerican immigrant kids in Europe on the way that is intriguing me a lot.
Jean-Roule: What food would you recommend for people that got a little bit too far with beers during the meetup?
Camilo: There is a colombian soup for breakfast called « Changua », perfect for when you're hungover. This is mainly made of milk with eggs, onions & hard bread inside… haha yummy!
Jean-Roule: I totally get you, onions have a special place in my heart. If you needed to choose another talent other than illustration/animation, what would it?
Camilo: I guess playing in a salsa band however I also love puppetry. So maybe making a show of puppets playing salsa.
Jean-Roule: Oh I also loved puberty! Spicy salsa gives me pimples though. So if you were a salsa, how hot would you be?
Camilo: Of course, I would be a salsa from the 70’s, something like “Sonido bestial” the hottest salsa song you will ever taste.
Jean-Roule: Oof! The atmosphere is getting a bit too warm for following with the rest of the interview… 🥵See you tonight with @camilo.cita ’s best pelvis moves! 🕺🏻
