JR: Hellooooooo @jango_jim , what’s up my friend! I’m super excited to have you here with me! I’ve always been wondering, where are you from and what actually brought you to Brussels?
JJ: I’m from Antwerp and I came to Brussels for Love.
JR: Oehh luuvvvvvv! Obvi I’m probably your most upper SuperFan (but not an OnlyFan I’m sure) but how would YOU define your work?
JJ: Happy colourful bold universe with a lighthearted silly vibe to it often using puns, dumb jokes or motivating messages, the way I like to see the world.
JR: Ok Ok, I hear you, vibing puns in a message full of the universe - I never thought about it that way! And do you have a favourite theme?
JJ: I love drawing faces on things, making animals talk or act like humans and food is often a big source of inspiration. I vibe with good silly vibes, things that make me smile and do silly dances.
JR: Cooool talking animals are the best! What are you working on right now?
JJ: I just finished a poster for a comic strip festival in Prague in November and 3 psychedelic designs for boxes of cookies from a Canadian company. This summer I'm working on a first kids book with an American publisher and from September I'll be working with an American animation studio on an animated kids series. On the side making a short film with an animation buddy from Philadelphia and new personal work as well. Happily flowing from the one project to the next.
JR: Wauw Wauw - the Jangotrain is one that never stops! Lucky world! Thanks a lot JangoJim! Let’s talk more at the meetup coming Thursday!
