Time to introduce our meetup host for this month! @h.paulynka is not only part of JR’s most inner circle, she’s also part of the Chateau L’enroule, the atelier where Jean-Roule lives and relentlessly rules his scepter. She is a freelance art director, illustrator & animator, born in France, with Slovakian roots and currently living in Brussels.
Her work is colourful and full of imagination and she loves designing characters and strange creatures to build emotional stories around them. As a big fan of nature and ecology, you’ll find a lot of references to wilderness in her work.
Her illustrations are also heavily influenced by ancient cultures and traditions & tales and legends from all around the world. She uses photos from her own travels and fills them with friendly giants or the tiniest of characters.Cutest fun fact: she grew up with a red squirrel named Hazelnut (our hearts just melted 🥲) that loved playing hide and seek in her hoodies!
